Nicholas came to filmmaking via a degree in architecture and a career in photography. Now he’s a filmmaker, writing and directing dramas. They are simple stories describing the ordinary universe in its complexity, involving characters with minor moral troubles. He enjoys the conditioned nature by which people, objects and events fall side by side, the paratactic meaning that comes from those correlations. His stories derive from everyday observation. They are told clearly and concisely.

Whilst developing his own projects Nicholas works in post-production, mostly on feature films. His latest short film Lapel has been selected for BAFTA & Academy qualifying festivals: Bolton Film Festival, Aesthetica Film Festival, Rhode Island Film Festival (shortlisted), InterFilm Berlin. It has also been shortlisted by the British Society of Cinematographers for the Best Short Film: Student Category.
